HOLLYWOOD - The success of Trading Spaces on TLC has, in the grand tradition of Hollywood, inspired several knock offs this season. Among them:

• Trading Braces We take two people, and while they're asleep we sedate them and then swap their braces without them knowing.
• Trading Graces We swap Grace Jones and Grace Slick and see what hilarity ensues
• Trading Chases We take Chevy Chase and swap him with Chase Masterson and see what hilarity ensues
• Trading Outer Spaces We swap the contents of two parallel universes and see what hilarity ensues
• Trading Faces While they're under the anesthetic, we cut off and swap the faces of two unsuspecting plastic surgery patients and see what hilarity ensues when they wake up
• Changing Dooms We take two world leaders who hate each other and give them power of each other's country for a day
• Changing Brooms We take two neighbors and have them swap brooms for day and see how they get on
• Changing Wombs We take two fetuses and switch them without their mothers' knowledge and see what hilarity ensues when they're born
• Changing Looms While they're at lunch we swap the looms of two textile companies and see what hilarity ensues
• Changing Tombs We swap the bodies of Chairman Mao and Stalin in their tombs and see how long it takes anyone to notice
• Changing Lius While she's asleep we erase all evidence of Lucy Liu's identity so that when she wakes up no-one knows who she is. Hilarity is bound to ensue
• While You Were Out We take a patient undergoing an operation in hospital, and while he's unconscious we move his bed into an Air Force hanger in the desert and surround him by scientists who convince him he's an alien who's ship crashed and he's now under quarantine
