White House Declassifies Bin Laden Threat
Memo.
WASHINGTON- The Bush Administration complied with request
from the 9/11 Commission an declassified the President's Daily
Briefing Memo from August 6th 2001. Know as the PDB, the memo
was titled "Bin Laden to Attack on US Soil".
The
memo has been a politcal thorn in the side of Presdient Bush
who has stated if he knew that planes were going to be used
as misiles against New York and Washington he would have tried
to stop it.
Here is the text of that PDB memo:
Mr. President on August 5, 2001 the CIA intercepted
this communique believe to be from Al Quaida leader Osama
bin Laden.
Dear Imperialist Dog Brain President Bush,
On 11 September, 2001, I have arranged for
my agents in your land to commandeer five airliners. One shall
strike the airport in Hollywood producers of smut, two shall
strike each of your imperialist towers of "world"
trade, one will strike your war Pentagon and the final plane
will strike your White House, unless you're on vacation again.
My pilot will find you where ever you are.
You can look for me at Logan airport on 11
September. I'm rather tall, bearded, I'll wear a turban and
a red poppy in my lapel. We have lots of poppies here. Oh
I'm forgetting, you know my father and brothers quite well,
just look for the family resemblence."
The alledged bin Laden letter goes on to detail the commercial
airline flight numbers and departure times and gives the names
and addresses of his US based opperatives. The letter was
written in very large type and signed "Osama bin Laden
of Saudi Arabia, currently in Afgahnistan".
Sources at the meeting when the President recieved the memo
have reported his first reaction as "So this is from
Sadam Hussein and the Iraqis?" An aide indicated that
it was not and pointed to the signature of bin Laden. Bush
then is reported to have said "Well come back when you
have actionable intelligence."
